Swimming for over 60s

As part of its programme of public spending cuts, the government has announced the withdrawal of free swimming for people over the age of 60 across the country. The scheme was introduced in Cornwall in April 2009, and was due to run until March 2011 but has now stopped at the end of July 2010.

From 1 August the admission charge will be £3 per session.

Anyone who is already registered for free 60+ swimming at Ships & Castles or Truro Leisure Centre should contact reception for details of a special Swim Membership offer for existing customers (offer available to end of August 2010).
